Arise, shine, for your light has come! The glory of Adonai has risen on you - Isaiah 60:1✨

When Yeshua came to the temple in Jerusalem during the feast of sukkot, he was the Light of God standing in the Holy Place. Through this painting I have tried to visually depict this festive event in the Gospel of John.

On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Yeshua stood up and cried out loudly, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture says, ‘out of his innermost being will flow rivers of living water. - John 7:37-38 🌊

Yeshua is the Light ✨

Matthew 4:16: "the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." In this passage, Matthew quotes from Isaiah to describe the beginning of Jesus' ministry, emphasizing how His coming brought light to those in spiritual darkness.

Luke 2:32: "a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel." Simeon, when he sees the infant Jesus at the temple, acknowledges Jesus as the light to the Gentiles and the glory of Israel. This connects to the concept of light in Isaiah 60.

John 1:4-5: "In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." In the opening verses of John's Gospel, Jesus is described as the true Light, and this concept is closely related to the light imagery in Isaiah.

These apostolic writings references highlight how Jesus fulfills the messianic promises of bringing light and glory, not only to Israel but to all nations (Gentiles) as foretold in Isaiah 60:1.
